Reflexology

reflexology galwayReflexology is a treatment method involving massage and manipulation of various ‘reflex points’ on the feet and/or hands. This special type of movement and manipulation helps to stimulate the natural healing processes of the body.  The theory is that different points on the feet and hands correspond with all of the glands, organs and parts of the body, and that stimulating these points can help those specific parts of the body to restore balance naturally.

Reflexology is thought to have originated in ancient Egypt and inscriptions have been found on the ancient tomb of Ankmahor which appear to support this.  They show Egyptians knelt down holding and pressing the feet of their superiors.  This practice is still common in certain spiritual traditions where disciples and seekers show their love and support for their guide by taking care of the feet and hence their overall physical body.

Reflexology sessions are tailored according to your specific needs. Although a Reflexologist cannot diagnose nor cure, this treatment does come very highly recommended for relaxation and grounding, for reducing stress and tension and for improving sleep.  Clients often find that their mood and general sense of well being improves after a reflexology session. This can obviously play a very important part in preventing stress-induced illnesses which are so prevalent in today’s society.

Each session lasts for one hour and includes stimulation of reflex points on the feet, plus a foot and calf massage using natural essential oils. After the treatment, you will receive a refreshing drink and we can exchange feedback about our perceptions of the treatment.

“After my reflexology session with Jeni, my sciatica seemed to ease up a bit and I was able to sleep through the night for the first time in ages.  I find it very calming and soothing and am always surprised at the lasting effect it has on my body.”  Becky
