I offer cancer patients or carers a therapeutic space in which some psychological and physical relief can be achieved. In these sessions, I combine elements of reflexology, counselling, aromatherapy, massage, visualisation and hypnosis to help you or your loved one to gradually regain some control and slowly reduce the high levels of stress typically associated with a diagnosis.
These sessions are extremely individualised, and after initial assessment (face to face, talking only) will largely depend on what it is that you personally need. Some individuals require more talking therapy and hypnosis to deal with side effects, psychological scars and pain from chemotherapy and surgery. Others require more help getting active or staying as active as is possible through the treatment process and beyond – for example, writing diaries and plans and celebrating small successes together along the way.
I include CDs for relaxation and sleep, once I know you and what you need, as well as slow mindful walks in nature, reading materials and recommendations for local groups and individuals who may also be able to contribute.
