This workshop is for couples who have decided to end their relationship and want to make the separation as amicable as possible – whether that is for the sake of the children involved, for other family members, or for the sake of the friendship and the relationship itself.  This is not about ‘getting to know’ the other, nor about ‘deepening the connection,’ but using a dialogue process to end disputes and get onto the right track in terms of continuing the physical and legal separation.

I am not a Mediator, so please do not come to this workshop expecting traditional mediation or legal advice.  I am a couples therapist and I use the Imago Dialogue Technique to help you to get back into contact and to learn a way of speaking to one another SAFELY, in order to reach a mutual agreement on how matters should proceed.

I will coach you both to mirror one another, to listen, and to understand the other’s point of view whilst not invalidating your own.  I will point out any dynamics I see between you which may be currently interrupting or prohibiting you from getting to where you both want to be.

After the workshop, you will have a technique to take away that you can continue to use outside of the therapy room to find a way to move on beyond the separation and into future relationships.

Topics covered are:

  • Saying Goodbye Respectfully
  • Expressing Appreciation
  • Establishing A New Vision
  • Imago Dialogue – A Way Forwards

Please note that for this workshop, I offer separate Skype sessions (half hour per person) both before and after the workshop in order to ensure that you are both completely behind your decision to separate.  If one or both partners are resistant to the separation in some way, then this workshop may not be suitable.
